Lions in Winter is an annual literary festival hosted by EIU's Dept. of English that has included author readings, craft talks by featured writers in fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction, editors panels, and book fairs. Inupiaq poet Joan Naviyuk Kane grew up in Anchorage, Alaska, and writes about threats to her ancestral community. Loss of elders with specific cultural knowledge concerns her as she raises children. This session will include a reading and craft talk. Find link on this webpage: https://thekeep.eiu.edu/lionsinwinter/lions2020/lions2020/3/
