Yoga is known to provide such physical benefits as increased muscle tone, improved mobility and flexibility of the joints, and enhanced balance and coordination, but this course will also explore yoga as a method of practicing mindful awareness to further enrich well-being. As a form of meditation, mindfulness helps us manage how we react to the stress, uncertainty, anxiety, and difficulties that surround us. Participants will be invited to slow down and pay close attention to their minds and bodies as they are guided through a series of gentle movements, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques. Please wear comfortable clothing that is easy to move in, and bring a mat, rug, or blanket, and drinking water.
